Create engaging content
Don't be better looking, be more engaging
It may sound pretty obvious, but are you really doing it?
Good design (like, really good design) tries to prioritise usability and practicality to enhance the user’s experience. Looking good is fire, but it also has to function effectively otherwise it’s not doing its real job, making things easier/better/more effective (insert adjective here).
1. Tailor the content to match their interests
Start by researching your audience. Create a few ‘personas’ (think: fake people) with your average audience’s thoughts, problems & emotions. Then, create content using the language, visuals, and topics that appeal to their interests.
2. Offer value to keep them engaged
Value can be subjective or even situational, so don’t worry if your post isn’t revolutionising advertising. Be informative, teach them things. Be entertaining, make them laugh and relate. Be inspirational, make them feel empowered.
Maybe don’t fill their feed with obscure quotes, though.
You’re better than that.
3. build a connection to your audience
Isn’t this the same as #2? Kinda, but I want you to think about how you can show the human side of your brand. How you can make them understand your values or even involve them in the way you do business. Make them feel like they’re a part of something great. Woo them!
Don’t be the brand that begs for business, give something back
