Highlight the benefits, don’t dwell on the features
Customers need to know how you can help, not what you can do
Focus on the problems you’ll be solving
It’s not enough to just say what you do, you have to highlight how you can help. What are the pain points your customers have? Do they have any day-to-day challenges, really frustrating ones, that you can take off of their hands?
Make it emotional.
Emphasise just how valuable your offering really is
Be really clear when you’re describing the benefits. So you’ve hooked them by explaining how you can solve their problem. Excellent! Now you need to reinforce this by describing the other benefits of your product or service.
Use language your customer will relate to
Make your product or service sound life-changing! It solves their problem, it contains all these benefits, now frame that in a way that resonates with powerful emotions like desire. ‘Cleans your car’ has a different message than ‘arrive at your destination giving the perfect first-impression’.
If you can, include proof
Gather testimonials you can include. Ask for reviews of your product or service. Use case-studies to explain how your offering has helped people in the past. To build a sense of trust these days, you can’t just shout at people, you need to show them just how good you really are.
Just saying you exist isn’t convincing enough any more
